Pterygium Surgery with a Conjunctival Autograft
Pterygium surgery with a conjunctival autograft is a procedure to remove a pterygium, an abnormal growth of tissue on the eye’s surface, usually extending from the conjunctiva over the cornea. A pterygium can cause irritation, inflammation, redness, a foreign body sensation and, in some cases, vision loss. Surgery can restore eye health, improve vision and relieve the uncomfortable symptoms caused by a pterygium.
